2017 | Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Hat Parade

10am, April 15, 2017 (Saturday)

The Hat Parade begins at 10:00am and is followed by the Easter Egg Hunt. Children should wear their most creative, crazy, fun Easter hats, and bring a container to collect candy eggs. Prizes are awarded to the best hats in special “Easter” categories. Call 413.538.5039 for details. This program is free of charge and sponsored by the South Hadley Recreation Department. Don’t be late…the eggs go quickly!

2017 | Lions Club Dog Show 

9am-1pm, May 13, 2017 (Saturday)

Perhaps your dog has the prettiest eyes, is the fastest tail-wagger, or walks with an attitude. For a $10 registration fee, enter your pet in two categories (additional category enrollment at $5 per category); nine categories to choose from. No need to be a South Hadley resident to enter your dog in the show, but the dog must be licensed and wearing his/her tag, and be on a leash to participate. Entry forms are available at South Hadley Public Library, and will be in the Town Reminder. Sponsored by the South Hadley Lions Club. Hot dogs and water will be available.

2017 | Friday Cruise Nights
May 19 to September 1, 2017
Weekly, 5:30pm to dusk

Cruise Nights are free and open to the public. Stroll through the park and enjoy classic cars, DJ music, refreshments and the company of neighbors and friends. Plan to join us for supper—the menu includes hot dogs and hamburger, along with a variety of beverages (including beer and wine) prepared by ‘celebrity chefs’ from local groups and organizations.

Proceeds from food sales help to support park improvements. Volunteers to assist with the food concession and other event needs are always appreciated. Information: Bruce, Kmaro68@aol.com

Free entertainment and activities for children 10 and under presented by the South Hadley Family Center (shfamilycenter.org). This annual series provides local families and day care providers with lovely child-focused musical events on Wednesday mornings from 10-11am during the month of July. In the event of inclement weather, concerts are moved indoors to the auditorium at South Hadley Town Hall, 116 Main Street. For information, contact the DPW at 413-538-5033.

Come see Big Rigs of all types (fire trucks, police cars, utility trucks, ambulances, and more)… climb into the cabs, ride the aerial ladder, and meet the people who operate these fascinating vehicles. This unique, free, kid-friendly event is co-sponsored by the South Hadley Electric Department.

Please enter at the park’s south entrance.

An annual tradition. With the park dressed up with lights and displays, the whole family will enjoy a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, hot chocolate and cookies! Have a photo taken or take your own while your child visits with Santa (many people do both), then take a ride on Santa’s train through our lighted holiday wonderland!
