An annual family Buttery Brook Park tradition, perfect for little ones. With the park dressed up with lights and displays, everyone will enjoy a visit at the log cabin with Santa and Mrs. Claus, hot chocolate, and cookies! Have a photo taken or take your own while your child visits with Santa (many people do both), then take a ride on Santa’s ‘train’ through our enchanted holiday lights wonderland and pick up your photo when you’re done. Stop in and say hi to the animals, too!

After careful consideration and discussion about the increased risk of EEE and West Nile Virus, it has been decided to move the Community Movie night indoors to Town Hall Auditorium.

This year’s Movie Night was planned after a successful event last fall and many requests to bring it back. Please plan to come to Town Hall and be ready to have a fun time with your neighbors! The movie will start at dusk.

All are invited. Admittance to the movie is FREE, but everyone is asked to contribute in any way they can, by either bringing a non-perishable food item or making a monetary donation to the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food Pantry of South Hadley. Light snacks will be available for sale (popcorn/water) at a reasonable cost.

The Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food Pantry in South Hadley (www.shfoodpantry.org) has seen an increase in the number families using the pantry. Any and all help is much needed and always appreciated. Organizers hope this event will bring the community together for some old-fashioned fun, while raising awareness of the need in our local community and providing a way for people to help.

The South Hadley Youth Commission will be cooking hot dogs and hamburgers for sale to the public, and the Friends of Buttery Brook Park will once again be serving free cake. Bring a picnic and stay to enjoy music by the South Hadley Community Band. Games for kids will include marbles, frisbee, or bring your own favorite.

The South Hadley Community Band will perform at 2:00pm and 3:10pm. At 2:50pm, several local students will lead a short program as we join with citizens across the country to reflect on the meaning of Memorial Day as part of a National Moment of Remembrance at 3:00pm.
